Grape info: The enduringly popular Montepulciano is Italy’s fourth most planted variety. Generally, two contrasting styles can be found: light, fruity and uncomplicated or muscular and rich with ripe cherry notes, dried herbs and abundant but soft tannins.
About: A family-run enterprise since 1920, Cantini Minini have been developing relationships and cooperative projects with growers from many of Italy’s wine-producing regions for over 100 years. Breathing new life into ancient and unique vineyards across Italy, they seek to marry new technologies with tradition. Grown in the high hills of Chieti in central-eastern Italy.
Tasting note: A nose of blackberry and plum with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Full bodied with supportive tannins a fresh acidity and notes of ripe cherry and dried herbs.
