Sweetness: Dry

Grape: Carignan, Grenache

Grape info: A native of Spain, more famous for its role in Rioja, where it’s known as Mazuelo, Carignan is naturally very high in tannins, acidity and colour. Grenache’s softer tannins, medicinal levels of alcohol and attractive, herby, spicey character help to flesh out Carignan’s structure.

About: Fermentations are carried out separately for each variety, one under cooler temperatures to retain aromatics and freshness, the other, a traditional ferment, adding structure and weight. Wines are blended after fermentation, emphasizing a youthful, easy-drinking character.

Tasting note: Bright ruby red in colour. Lovely red fruits such as redcurrant and blackberry, with a hint of spice on the nose. The palate is smooth, round, full-bodied and fruit forward.
