Grape info: Chardonnay’s particular sensitivity to terroir and production techniques make it arguably the most versatile white variety in the world, capable of myriad styles ranging from lean and crisp to rich and spicey.
About: Founded over a century ago, Viña La Rosa is located in one of Chile’s most exciting wine regions in the Cachapoal Valley: Peumo. Today, the traditions of its founders inspire a sustainable approach to viticulture and continue to inform a terroir-based mindset where respect for the environment is paramount.
These specially selected grapes are machine harvested at night, while still cold, to preserve fresh fruit flavours. After the crush, the grapes are macerated at 8-10°C for 4-6 hours to enhance varietal aromas. The must is clarified by natural sedimentation at 10-12 °C. After the must is pumped to a fermentation tank and selected yeast is added, keeping controlled temperature at 14-18 °C about 21 days
