Grape info: The Sardinian synonym for Garnacha Tinta (Grenache Noir), Cannonau is by far Sardinia’s most important red variety. Young wines can have an etherial, floral nose with hints of dried herbs; older wines develop a richer, spicey character with hints of forest floor and nuts.

About: Cantina del Vermentino Monti came to life in 1956, when 22 far-sighted winegrowers came together, combining their land, resources, and energy in the pursuit of making quality wine. The resulting wines are elegant, refined, and terroir-driven. Produced in the foremost DOC for Cannonau: Cannonau di Sardegna.

Tasting note: A powerful nose of strawberry, plum and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with supportive tannins, notes of violets and incense on the palate and medicinal levels of alcohol.
