Reserve de Marande Malbec
Contents
Sweetness: Dry
Grape: Malbec
Grape info: Although Malbec is now more commonly associated with Argentina, its home is Cahors in the south-west of France. If proper ripeness can be achieved, wines can be deeply coloured, aromatic and have good aging potential.
About: Fruit for the Marande was selected from some of the coolest vineyards in the Pays d’Oc. Located on high slopes, influenced by the Pyrenees Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, the growing season here is long and slow, allowing for the development of complex aromatics.
The wine is aged on its fine-lees for five months before being carefully filtered and bottled.
Tasting note: On the nose the wine displays dark fruits: red plum and blackberry with a hint of underbrush. Approachable and smooth with limber tannins, a great structure and an elegant finish.
Character: Plum, blackberry, spice
