Grape info: A native of the Gironde in southwest France, Carmenère was transported to Chile in the mid nineteenth century where, for decades, it was mistaken for Merlot. It now represents a trademark style for Chile, producing medium-bodied, well-coloured wines with flavours of black fruits cocoa and coffee.
About: Founded over a century ago, Viña La Rosa is located in one of Chile’s most exciting wine regions in the Cachapoal Valley: Peumo. Today, the traditions of its founders inspire a sustainable approach to viticulture and continue to inform a terroir-based mindset where respect for the environment is paramount.
Matured for 15 months in amphoras and used barrels for an enhanced expression of terroir.
