Grape info: A noble grape variety, Cabernet Franc has a rich history dating back centuries. Originating in the Bordeaux region of France, it is believed to be one of the parent grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon. Renowned for its aromatic qualities and elegant structure, Cabernet Franc has succeeded in various wine regions worldwide, where it shines as a single-varietal wine.
About: Founded over a century ago, Viña La Rosa is located in one of Chile’s most exciting wine regions in the Cachapoal Valley: Peumo. Today, the traditions of its founders inspire a sustainable approach to viticulture and continue to inform a terroir-based mindset where respect for the environment is paramount.
Matured for 15 months in amphoras and used barrels for an enhanced expression of terroir.
Tasting note: A nose of cranberries, rosewood and wild fruits. Vibrant and mineral, the palate displays notes of strawberry, plum and chili pepper with hints graphite. The tannins are fine and chalky with a lengthy finish.
Character: Cranberry, pepper, mineral.
