Grape info: Cabernet Sauvignon’s deep colour, high acidity and high tannin can make for extremely age-worthy wines capable of lasting decades. Its unusually aromatic profile and affinity with oak give it a world-renowned complexity that has formed the basis for some of the world’s finest and most famous wines. Merlot’s soft, attractive fruitiness makes it an ideal blending partner, adding flesh to Cabernet’s bones and a counterpoint to its heavy tannins. Together they form the chosen blend of most Médoc and Graves wines.
