Grape info: Once on the verge of extinction, Arneis’ popularity thankfully began to rise again in 1980s and is today one of the signature grapes of Piemonte. A low-yielding variety that produces subtle, perfumed wines with notes of peach, almond, yellow apple and sometimes nutmeg, its naturally low acidity is sometimes balanced by a light, natural spritz.
About: Now third-generation winemakers, the Lanzavecchia family have been making wine in the Seralunga d’Alba for over fifty years. A few kilometers away in Gavi, the Cortese grape reaches the summit of its potential in the commune’s eponymous wines.
Grapes are harvested by hand before a very soft crushing. Fermentation takes place at low temperature without contact with the skins in order to emphasize the aromas and characteristics of the grape variety.
