Grapes: Glera (Prosecco)

Grape info: Though Glera’s precise origins remain in dispute, its popularity does not. The great majority is used for sparkling and semi-sparkling production in the Veneto region of northeast Italy, most importantly in the DOCG of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene. With enough sun exposure the grapes can develop complex, refined, characteristically light flavours with delicate floral aromatics.

Tasting note: Pear and citrus on the nose with aromas of honeysuckle and acacia. The palate is tense and vibrant with notes of red apples, honeydew melon and white flowers. Focussed and fresh with an excellent balance and cleansing acidity.
