Grape info: Although Malbec is now more commonly associated with Argentina, its home is Cahors in the south-west of France. If proper ripeness can be achieved, wines can be deeply coloured, aromatic and have good aging potential.
Info: In 1925, Rutini became the first winery to plant vines in the Uco Valley, which today is world-renowned as one of the top wine-producing regions in Mendoza and all of Argentina. Rutini has 400 hectares of vineyards at altitudes ranging between 1,050 and 1,200 meters above sea level.
70% of the blend undergoes traditional fermentation in stainless steel tanks, while 30% was fermented in barrels. Aged 100% in second-use, untoasted French oak barrels for 3 months.
Tasting note: On the nose, aromas of ripe red fruits, such as plums and cherries, with spicy notes and dark chocolate contributed by the French oak. On the palate, it is structured, with firm and well-integrated tannins, offering a long and elegant finish.
Character: Plum, cherry, dark chocolate.
